What’s

What’s "Amababa Photography"?

The students, who are current students of Brave EGGs Art Academy, a school for training professional photographers, will accompany various tours organized by KISEKI and capture every moment with care.
You will receive 3 photos of your choice from among those taken! Other data is also available for sale if you wish.

Amababa means "wings" in Kinyarwanda.
We named it in the hope that students will gain "wings" to become financially independent and gain freedom.

Concept

Create a world where
each person can live as
the hero of his or her own life.

Our goal is to achieve gradual social change by approaching social issues as a sustainable business, utilizing the "power of art to affect people's sensibilities".

In the summer of 2019, 10 Japanese photographers held the "Rwanda Happy Mother Project" fashion show in Kimihurira, Rwanda, featuring mothers living in slums.

母親達

The event was a great success. The mothers were very happy and some brought photos from those days years later. It was a great success as a festival.

But it was also a reality that no matter how many great pictures we took, no Rwandan could earn money.

Based on this experience, we started “Sharun-zoku” project with the hope that the children would become financially and spiritually independent.

We opened Brave EGGs Art Academy (BEAr), a school for training professional photographers, in Kimihurura in March 2022 using the proceeds from the project. Now seven students belong to the school.

集合写真

Amababa Photography was started with the hope that students who had mastered basic photography techniques would gain more hands-on experience while meeting real clients and earning money.

Make a little
difference,
create a
playful world!!

With a little action by each of us,
we can make the world a more interesting place.
We are working with this belief.

“I have no opportunity.”
An unforgettable phrase for me that a Rwandan child said to me in 2019.

The cost of living in the Kimihurura slum is 30,000-40,000 RWF per family per month.
This is only about 5,000 JPY.
And even that income is unstable and they do not know if they will get it every month.

There are many ways to earn income in the world.
However, due to economic problems, they are unaware of their existence and lack the means to access them.
If this is the case, why don't we, who happen to know various means and access methods, tell them how to earn money?

主人公

The basic fee of 5,000 RWF (about 600 yen) will cover food for a few days.
If you buy all the data for 50,000 RWF (about 6,000 yen), it will provide about a little less than a month's worth of living expenses for the students, and furthermore, it will build up their future school expenses.
If they can continue to get even two deals a month?
That family will be able to live well, and the students will have enough achievements to help them break out into a larger field.

Toward a world where each person is the hero of his or her own life.
BEAr and Amababa Photography are committed to helping children around the world achieve economic and spiritual independence through photography.
